Are you a career coach?
Yes and No. Traditional career coaches provide valuable help with the tactical aspects of finding a career or job, such as creating resumes, job hunting, and career assessments. While I certainly do that for clients, often more is needed for real success. I take a strategic, developmental approach: understanding who you are and helping you align your vocation and life. It’s a developmental approach because you might not be completely ready for your new direction, and need to develop new skills and capabilities. We can do that together! What if I don’t want to change jobs or careers, but just want to grow in my existing job?
That’s a great question! Too many people push the ‘EJECT’ button and leave a job, when instead they might learn how to thrive in their current job, with the right coaching.
What if I don’t have a problem with work, do you coach people on other challenges?
Absolutely! I focus on work because there is so much pain there. But you can find meaning, purpose and joy in your life – whether the challenge is in relationships, life purpose, or finding balance.
ABOUT PROFESSIONAL LIFE COACHING
What is a Professional Life Coach or Personal Coach?
A Professional Life Coach is a trusted mentor who can help you identify what keeps you from reaching your fullest potential. The process provides a supportive and non-judgmental space to help you create what you want for yourself. You can find a Life Coach to help you strategize and acquire the tools you need to achieve your goals. It consists of steps to help you identify and reframe your thoughts and attitudes. It can also help you break negative habits and take action to achieve your maximum potential!
How is Coaching different from Therapy?
While life coaching can be therapeutic, it is not therapy. Coaching is distinct from traditional therapy because it is not designed to address psychological problems. The primary focus of coaching is to help you identify your goals, achieve them, and develop constructive habits and skills. There is little emphasis placed on the past with coaching, but instead the focus is on creating what you want now and in the future.
What’s a typical outcome from working with you?
Since everyone brings different challenges, the outcomes vary as well, but you can expect progress in many ways, including:
- Greater confidence in pursuing goals
- Improved sense of direction
- Increased ability to work with others
- Greater clarity and energy
- More fulfillment at work
Coaching Programs are designed for specific outcomes and are individually tailored to your needs. Take a look at the “Services for Individuals” page for additional outcomes. To see actual outcomes from real clients, you can read “Success Stories.”
Where do you hold coaching sessions?
Sessions are in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood or via telephone or Skype.
What if I don’t live in the Denver area?
No problem. You can get good results from virtual coaching. We can connect via Skype, Google Hangouts or telephone.
Do I have to commit if I do a free consultation?
Not at all. There is absolutely no obligation or commitment. The free consultation is for us to learn about each other and decide if it’s a good fit. If that isn’t enough for you to decide, you can then invest in one or more individual coaching sessions before deciding on purchasing an entire coaching program.
How much do you charge?
While it depends on what you need, for the best value and most rapid progress, you would invest in a structured Coaching Program. If you’re not ready to commit to a program, you can also just do individual coaching sessions. For more details, please see the “Services for Individuals” page.
What if I can’t afford your rates, do you have a sliding scale?
If you think you can’t afford a coaching program, let's talk about doing individual sessions less frequently, so the cost fits within your budget. Some people find after investing in just a few sessions they find clarity and direction! How much is it worth to love what you do every day?
What we discuss will be held in confidence and not shared with others. However, the legal privilege of confidentiality that exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. That said, life coaching is a confidential process, and your personal information will always be protected as allowed by law.
What is your cancellation policy?
I request a 24 hour notice to cancel a session. Please be sure to contact me if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session.
